Betsy and Jake are about to make the biggest mistake of their lives.
Both professionals in their mid-thirties, and looking forward to the birth of their first child, they have found the house of their dreams.
Over 150 years old and located just fifteen miles outside of the Midwestern city they rent an upscale apartment in, it's a bit of a fixer-upper, but all they can see when they look at it from the outside is potential.
It's admittedly a lot of square footage for a couple, even with a baby on the way -but Betsy works from home for a women's magazine and has plenty of leave time coming, and Jake, an attorney, is from a big family and is anxious to fill the five bedroom 1880's home with the couples' own kids.
Betsy, who at one time won medals in competitive swimming, falls in love with the Olympic-sized swimming pool that one of the previous owners put in.
But the Dream Home they plan to settle down in is already occupied-
And the current occupants have been nursing a grudge for 150 years!
