Catch of the Day
Reeling in Chaos, Catching Fresh Starts
When Seo Hye-Jin discovers her husband has traded her in for a younger model (who doesn't know the difference between a spatula and a hairbrush), she does what any self-respecting woman would do—she packs up her kids, her dignity, and every lightbulb in the house and heads back to her childhood seaside village.
Armed with nothing but sass, determination, and a questionable fishing license, Hye-Jin swaps high heels for rubber boots and dives headfirst into life as the town's first female fishing boat captain. But between dodging flying fish at the market, wrangling her rebellious teenagers, and teaching her toddler that the ocean is not for drinking, Hye-Jin's new life is far from smooth sailing.
Add in her meddling mother, a grumpy crew who'd rather eat snacks than haul nets, and the annoyingly handsome tutor helping her youngest son, and Hye-Jin's got her hands fuller than a fishing net at high tide. And just when things start to settle, her ex-husband waltzes back into town—with his mistress in tow—claiming he wants to "help." (Spoiler alert: He's terrible at it.)
Hilarious, heartwarming, and full of quirky small-town charm, Catch of the Day is a story about second chances, fresh starts, and the family we create—fish guts and all.
