Both the hero and heroine are survivors of physical abuse. He's a victim of child abuse, and she is a domestic violence survivor. The hero's mother suffered from drug addiction, and his father used his religious fervor as a weapon. Her mother committed suicide. The book also contains graphic descriptions of sexual activities. If you find any of this objectionable or triggering, stay clear. However, with all this said, the book is healing and hopeful and ends with a positive, loving relationship.
