Big interests and powerful environmentalists were attempting to convince Canadian citizens that fracking was the "F" word, not only because it required enormous amounts of precious water but was also thought to cause earthquakes. Red Cloud Petroleum's lifeblood and the future of Canada's oil and gas industry depended on fracking being allowed, but as fewer drilling permits were issued Kit's life became enmeshed in the survival of Red Cloud Petroleum, and Trinity became an abandoned woman!
