For most of us, it's easy to identify the people who have made us feel the best about ourselves. But it is even easier to list those who have hurt us the most. These memories are important because of the way they have made us feel.

Throughout our lives, our moods influence the level of effort we put into the way we behave, our mental health and even our state of mind.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to know our emotions, control them and express them.
Emotional intelligence enables leaders in our organization to manage interpersonal interactions with attention and empathy.
The ability to communicate emotionally with your employees and to be a leader by demonstrating emotional intelligence is crucial to effective leadership. This is partly because how a leader affects you can affect their engagement and effectiveness. Emotions may be present in any situation in the workplace, such as

Personally, the bosses who have most influenced my job satisfaction have had excellent levels of emotional capacity and leadership effectiveness. They brought out the best in me because they had excellent communication skills, empathy and made me feel valued.

If organizations are facing difficult periods, such as the recent pandemic outbreak, employers rely on employees to help the company stay strong and well-equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow. If employees are motivated and engaged, they will be better at their jobs, and this ultimately impacts the profitability of the organization.
Therefore, being able to increase your emotional intelligence score will significantly improve your performance as a leader.
